Thank you to TIME FM for giving me an interview later this morning. There are three types of A&E. Type 1 is full A&E which King George is now. The others, such as a specialist ones for type 2 or type 3 for urgent care are not A&Es as the public would know them per the definitions in the photo below.
Council Leaders and NHS managers gave a guarantee that King George A&E was safe on 1st April with the quote "let us be very clear" about their intentions.
However, when questioned about whether their guarantee includes type 1 there is a deafening silence.
Just as I would expect to know the details before buying a washing machine guarantee, I expect Council Leaders and NHS managers to answer whether their guarantee is type 1 or not.
Hopefully, the Time interview this morning will lead to BHRUT and Council Leaders saying what type of A&E they are guaranteeing for residents.
