Recorder letter over Chris Bown tricking Cllr Athwal about KGH A&E

Dear Sir or Madam

Chris Bown, the Chief Executive of BHRUT, the Trust managing King George Hospital tricked Cllr Athwal, the Leader of Redbridge Council into signing a guarantee to say King George A&E was safe dated 1st April 2019.

We now now know this guarantee was bogus as it was limited to type 2 & 3 department continuing on the King George site.

Since there were 7,357 type 1 A&E attendances at King George this January, limiting the service to type 2, which is speciality, and type 3, urgent care, would be a huge blow to our local NHS.

We have organised a walk from King George Hospital at 1:45pm on the 20th July to Ilford Town Hall for a 3pm meeting to say a full A&E service must be maintained at King George.
